Intern Diary: Meni

As I reflect on my experience at JMG PR, I am extremely appreciative of the professional and personal bonds that this opportunity has given me. Working in PR has always been a goal of mine, and the team at JMG has helped me gain a greater understanding of how to accomplish success in this field. As a public relations intern, I was given tasks to do by my lovely Account Executive, who has been a wonderful mentor to me and guided me through my entire experience alongside the rest of the team. They reminded me that it is important to always ask questions, no matter what that question may be. This was and still is very important to me because I always felt comfortable asking for help during a project that I was working on, knowing that help will always be available.

I learned so many things during my time here. I learned what it takes to be a great publicist, colleague, and overall a better communicator. I was confronted with certain weaknesses and was able to tackle them to turn them into strengths. I improved on my writing, research, and speaking skills, which are essential when working within the PR industry. I am beyond grateful that now, I can utilize these qualities moving forward, wherever my career takes me.

When I think about how much of a positive impact this experience has left on me, I believe that it wasn’t just a professional one, but one that enhances personal growth in different aspects of who you are. That is what I will cherish and hold onto whenever I think back to my experience at JMG PR.
