Intern Diaries: Victoria S.

As my time at JMGPR is coming to end, I reflect on my experience here and can't believe that I made it. My first day at JMG Public Relations was nothing short of exciting and nerve-wracking. Waking up in the morning, getting ready for the day and actually walking in and working was exactly what I've been looking forward to since finding out I was going to have my first internship. I didn't know what to expect when working here. Would I be able to do this? Was I going to completely fail? As time went on it turned out that I wasn't going to fail and I was able to do it. "It" as in work this job and everything that was thrown my way, I was able to do it.

Throughout my time here I never felt like just an intern, I felt as though I was an equal and there was nothing I couldn't do. When you hear intern many people automatically think of someone running errands all day, following your boss around picking up their dry cleaning, all things in the movies. To my surprise I was not made out to be that way, I am given project after project. The projects given to me are different every time I'm there. There's always something new to do and learn. The opportunities to try new things and succeed at them, there was no other feeling like it.

I walked in this building knowing little to nothing of Public Relations, and next week as I walk out of the building on my very last day I will walk out knowing more than I ever thought possible.
