Interning for JMG Public Relations has been a true honor. I entered the company with certain expectations and they were exceeded every single time. From the company culture to the work/life balance to the overall learning experience. Being that this internship was not my first, I still managed to learn a lot. No day was like the other at JMG PR, we took on the day with whatever was to be prioritized first which kept things interesting. Interning at JMG PR helped me strengthen all my skills as Jenna Guarneri , the CEO, continuously provided constructive criticism along the way. This aided in helping me improve and grow as the internship progressed. JMG Public Relations treats its employees and clients like family which is what sets the company apart from the rest.

Jenna Guarneri , is a true testament to the meaning of what a girl boss is. She balances her work/life so well that she almost makes it look easy. One of the most pleasurable moments of working at JMG PR was being in such a close knit team. We always collaborated with one another on ideas and projects. While at JMG PR I learned to do in-depth research using programs such as Cision, used excel to create media lists, managed social media, created mock ups, put together press kits, wrote pitches and even helped with events. JMG Public Relations handles many clients at a time so being good at multi-tasking is a must. My organizational, multi-tasking and adaptability skills were essential to me being as efficient and effective in my role as I was at JMG PR. Interns at JMG PR are treated like employees which makes you get the best out of the experience and actually learn as much as I have. The trust Jenna placed on me is something I’m thankful for since it made me get out of my comfort zone and intellectually grow more.

Now that my internship is coming to an end I was happy to hear that Jenna was pleased with my work ethic and dedication to the company. If there is any advice I can give to anyone looking to excel in any internship it is to treated your internship like a real job. Meaning: arrive early, add value to the team, ask valuable questions and help even when not asked to. You want to stand out amongst the rest and challenge yourself intellectually to get the most out of your internship. A special thank you to Jenna for being a mentor and rode model along the way, as well as to Jocelyn who happily helped answer any questions I had. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to intern for such a great firm like JMG PR and hope to be back in the near future.
